Which watch would you wear during a zombie apocalypse?

Mar 19, 2026

With the recent release of the much-anticipated Resident Evil Requiem, there’s been plenty to talk about. New storylines, familiar faces and unexpectedly… a super cool watch.

Hamilton Watch teamed up with Capcom to create Leon S. Kennedy’s iconic Khaki Field Auto Chrono watch. With a wing motif recalling the Raccoon City incident, hands shaped like Leon’s Requiem gun and pushers styled as shell casings, it's a symbol of resilience and pure skill.

So, what watch would you wear during a zombie apocalypse?

Let’s say, hypothetically, you’re in the middle of a classic Resident Evil story.
Nothing too dramatic, you know, just your standard end-of-the-world scenario. Cities collapsing. Strange noises in the distance. A general sense that things are not going particularly well.

In moments like these, you might assume the answer is something purely practical. Rugged. Durable. Built to survive anything. Something like the Khaki Field Auto Chrono, the kind of watch that looks like it could handle a few apocalyptic inconveniences without too much fuss.

And yes, that makes perfect sense. But here’s the thing.

Even at the end of the world… you’re still you.

Enter: Leon Kennedy

If you’ve ever spent time with Leon Kennedy, you’ll know he’s not exactly the type to panic. Slightly calm. Slightly tired. Unreasonably composed given the circumstances (though his witty one liners never get old).

He’s the kind of person who could be surrounded by chaos and still check the time like it’s a perfectly normal Tuesday.

Just imagine it: A quick glance at the wrist, a quiet sigh, “Ugh, back to saving the world…again”.

Time feels different out there

In ordinary life, time is structured with meetings, deadlines, trains to catch. But in a zombie biohazard, time becomes something else entirely.

It stretches, compresses… disappears completely when you’re running for your life.

Which makes wearing a watch… slightly strange. And also, strangely comforting.

When everything else is unpredictable, a watch is one of the few things that stays consistent, ticking away, unbothered. It doesn’t care about the chaos, it just keeps going. There’s something reassuring about that.

But Would You Really Choose Sensible?

Yes, a field watch makes sense.

But would you really want something purely sensible strapped to your wrist while the world is ending? Or would you want something that reminds you who you are?

Something with a bit of personality, like The Accurate. Something slightly strange, such as Monster Melter 3000. Or something perfectly fitting for a zombie apocalypse in Feline Fine. Just something that makes you look down and think, “Yep, this still feels like me.”

The Case for Interesting Watches (Even Now)

At MJW, we’ve always believed watches don’t have to be serious. And that probably doesn’t change… even in extreme circumstances.

You might still want a watch that makes you smile, a watch that distracts you for a moment or a watch that feels like a small piece of normality.

Because when everything else is uncertain, small things matter more.

So yes, a Khaki Field Auto Chrono might get you through the apocalypse.

But an interesting watch?
That might make it slightly more enjoyable…
