The story behind our memento mori watches
The hands of this mirrored watch read 'Remember you will die' which is a translation from the Latin phrase: 'Memento mori'. It's a shocking statement, and people are usually quite divided about how they feel about it.
It's an accurate statement (hence the title) and the idea behind creating a watch like this, and all of memento mori collection, is to remind you to make the most of your limited time.
This statement tote bag was frequently requested by our customers and we think it compliments our memento mori watches perfectly.
We made it here in our workshop and it's just £10.
With mirrored eyes and nose, this skull watch is designed to remind you of your own mortality (it also looks cool too). It's the first skull watch we designed (around ten years ago) and we're pleased to see that it's still popular with new customers!
This watch is also available in ladies and XL size.
This watch was designed by British tattoo artist Adrian Willard:
“the design comes from the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. The festival focuses on gathering to remember friends and family who have died. Many gifts and offerings are handed out including sugar skulls that are given to both the living and the dead.
It has become a very popular image in the tattoo world over the years and has replaced the regular skull in the mainstream tattoo trends”.
This watch is also available in ladies and XL size.
Finally, the Ambassador watch is another, slightly more subtle reminder to make the most of your time.
Every time the hour and minute hands align, a skull appears on the face. The rest of the time the watch face appears to just be a random mix of shapes and colours.
