Unplugged by Kristof Devos
Kristof Devos
Kristof explains his design inspiration:
"To emphasise that feeling of being comfortably disconnected, I created a scene, inspired mostly by my own living room, that I personally find most enjoyable:
reading with warm sunlight streaming through the window; a cat snuggled next to you on the sofa, surrounded by plants and with the phone off the hook.
In a sense, Unplugged is a blend of both my youth and my life today. The technology in the scene is a throwback: the record player, the walkman, the rotary dial telephone and the TV.
These items are meant to remind the wearer of the watch how disconnected – unplugged – we were just a few years ago, and how much things have changed since.
The watch also conveys that it’s not too late to unplug, even today: the choice is yours, and it’s actually not that difficult to do.”
